For the storage and transportation of compressed natural gas (CNG)

The IGX Group has designed a complete line of Gas Transportation Modules or GTMs. Configured around Type III composite cylinders that are lightweight, the IGX GTM can store CNG at up to 3600 psi (248 bar). GTMs can be configured for placement into standard shipping containers or onto the back of small trucks.

With an aluminum inner wall wrapped with carbon fiberglass resin, the cylinders are then placed in scalable frames which can be “manifolded” together. The cylinders themselves are larger in diameter than other high pressure steel alternatives, 15.9 inches (40.4 cm) in diameter and upwards of 9 feet (274 mm) long.

The frames can then be mounted on truck beds or inserted into 10 ft, 20 ft. or 40 ft long ISO shipping containers. These containers can then be transported by any mode, including rail, barge or truck chassis.

The GTMs offered by IGX are an economical alternative to the steel solutions, which are extremely heavy and result in both decreased fuel economy when transporting the modules, as well as greater wear and tear on the vehicle and roads.
